It is a while (a really long while) since I have done any reviews on The Rebel Pebble.
A house renovation kind of took over life but that is pretty much finished, so as I am waiting for the primer to dry on a side board I am painting, I thought it would give me time to bring you, The Saturday Selection.
I am kicking things off with a the lush Skin Salvation beauty range from Pure Potions.
My skin is pretty hit and miss. I have those pesky lines that come with age, coupled with the odd (not always that odd) spot on my chin, throw in a side of sensitivity, and dryness, and I am generally reluctant to switch products incase I have a reaction.
Fear not, the Purepotions Skin Salvation range is rich in the essential fatty acids which are vital for skin health. Living by the beach, and often being pitch side watching football and rugby up on the moors at school, means my skin is battered by the wind, sea salt and when you add in the cold and central heating, hydration can set in. I love the Purepotions Skin Salvation products because, while I eat plenty of oil fish and take a supplement, the oil in the creams simply sink into my skin and get to work on the areas that really need a little extra love.
The complete kit includes the Intensive Moisturising Ointment, Intensive Hand Cream and Daily Moisturising Cream all of which are totally free from parabens, perfumes and petrochemicals. I love that they are all gentle and off my dry or sensitive skin the care it needs need to cope all that winter in the South West throws at it.
It isn’t just me who has seen the benefits. My 11-year-old went on an incredible school residential trip last week. By day there were in the water and by night they were camping by the river and he can back with a happy but wind-blasted face. Rather than go straight for the last of the summer after sun, I got him to use the Skin Salvation ointment which really did work wonders on his little chapped lips and nose. Within a day the redness had gone and he had baby soft skin once again, but this is going to be a Trice family first aid kit staple from now on.
Now, I was in two minds about sharing this last little gem, but I think that it would be mean if I didn’t. The guys at Purepotions also sent me their Scar Oil and it is nothing short of amazing. This ultra-intense, natural moisturising oil, is rich in pure, cold-pressed rosehip oil, which is packed with Vitamins A and C, as well as essential fatty acids Omega-3 and Omega-6. These natural ingredients come together to support the clever, but fragile, natural cycle of skin cell renewal by feeding the epidermis with the vital nutrients. While this oil was developed to specifically help improve the appearance of scars, it is also great at tackling fine lines, wrinkles and blemishes. I have been using it morning and night after cleansing and toning and while I am no teenagers, it helps to smooth and soften my skin leaving it supple and healthy. I then follow with the Daily Moisturising Cream and my make up which doesn’t slip or slide as the oil sinks in and gets to work where it is most needed. I will add that this oil is a deep amber colour, but as the oil is adsorbed into your skin, this does fad, so don’t worry, there won’t be any tan-tactic tones coming through.
Whether you want to even out tone, address sensitive skin around your eyes, or look after painful cracked skin on your hands after an afternoon in the garden, I would suggest trying out these products which are cruelty-free and vegans friendly, and can be used on all skin types.
Give them a go and let me know what you think.
